Dose form & administration

Dose form: Oral tablet (3 mg, 7 mg, 14 mg). Ozempic tablets are the same medicine at other strengths, and the two are not interchangeable milligram for milligram.
Dosing frequency: Once daily in the morning on an empty stomach, swallowed whole with up to 4 ounces of plain water; wait at least 30 minutes before food, drink or other oral medicines

If a step-up is poorly tolerated

The 3 mg starting dose does not control blood sugar; it lets the stomach adjust. From day 61 the dose stays at 7 mg, or rises to 14 mg if more control is needed.
