0.75 mg once weekly

Maintenance

0.75 mg to 4.5 mg once weekly

Maximum dose

4.5 mg once weekly for adults; 1.5 mg once weekly for children 10 and older

If a step-up is poorly tolerated

Each increase (0.75 to 1.5 mg, then 1.5 mg steps to 3 and 4.5 mg) comes after at least 4 weeks on the current dose, and only if blood sugar needs more control.

At least 3 days (72 hours) before the next dose

Inject the missed dose as soon as possible only if there are at least 3 days (72 hours) until your next scheduled dose. Otherwise skip it and inject on your usual day.

When to contact your prescriber

You have missed several doses in a row.
Severe stomach side effects after a dose increase.
Signs of pancreatitis or gallbladder disease.
