The refill-window trap
This catches people out. Lilly's maintenance self-pay price of $449/mo (7.5 mg and up) is conditional on refilling within 45 days of your previous fill. Miss the window — a vacation, a delayed appointment, a pharmacy hiccup — and the price jumps to $699/mo (10, 12.5, 15 mg), about $250 more per month. If you rely on the self-pay price, set a calendar reminder for day 35.
